Offshore wind energy plays a vital role in achieving the Netherlands’ climate goals and the transition to a zero-carbon energy supply by 2050. With the fulfillment of offshore wind energy capacity targets for 2023 in sight, the government aims to pick up the pace by setting ambitious follow-up targets for 2030 and beyond. Several instruments have been implemented to secure the industry’s growth and achieve the government’s sustainability goals.
